Verdalia Odelphia Charleston, 77, departed this life on October 26, 2022 in Monroe, Louisiana. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Greater Free Gift Baptist Church located at 5498 Highway 165 South, Monroe, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens, 2705 Richwood Road, #2, Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will be held in the chapel of Hester's Funeral Home, 811 Louise Anne Avenue, Monroe, Louisiana from 3 pm to 6pm on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  

God looked around His garden, and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw my precious face. He put his arms around me and lifted me to rest; God's Garden is beautiful He always takes the best. He knew that I was suffering, He knew I was in pain, He knew I would never get well on earth again. So He closed my weary eyelids, and whispered, "Peace be thine" then he took me up to Heaven with hands so gentle and kind. It broke my heart to leave you, but I did not go alone. For part of me remains with you the day God welcomed me home.
