Mikayla Alyse Hester-Cottonham, 22, transitioned from this life on January 15, 2023 in Ruston, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023, Pleasant Green Baptist Church, 5133 Brown Road, Richwood, Louisiana. Burial will immediately follow at Richwood Memorial Gardens, 2705 Richwood Road #2, Monroe, Louisiana. Visitation will held Friday, January 27, 2023 from 2pm to 5pm in the Chapel of Hester Central State Funeral Home, 811 Louise Anne Avenue, Monroe, Louisiana 71201. 

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back for just a little while. We could sit and talk again just like we used to do.  You always meant so very much and always will, too. The fact that you're no longer here will always cause me pain but you're forever in my heart until we meet again. When you were a baby, I held you in my arms, when you were a child, I held you in my lap. As you grew into a beautiful young lady, I held you in my prayers. Now that you're gone, I hold you in my heart forever. Something will remind me, I never know just when it might be something someone says and it all comes back again. The times we spent together, the happiness, the fun once again, I feel the pain of life without you Mikayla. It's said that time's a healer, I'm not sure this is true, there's not a day that goes by that I don't cry for you. Forever in my heart.
