Essie V. Carradine, 73, transitioned from this life on April 5, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Hopewell Baptist Church, 448 South Blankston Road, Columbia, Louisiana. Burial will be at 1 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Mount Olive Cemetery, 20 Mount Olive Cemetery Road, Kirby, Mississippi. No visitation has been scheduled. 

I am Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free; I'm following the path Goad has chosen for me. I took His hand when I heard Him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I've now found peace a the end of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship hared, a laugh, a kiss; oh yea, these things I, too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow; Look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch; Perhaps my time seems all too brief; don't lengthen your pain with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee; God wanted me now--He has set me free.
